English Language Proficiency Exams
Michigan English Test (MET)
The MET is not an admissions test for students applying to universities and colleges in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Those interested in such a test should consider the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB).
The MET is for adults and adolescents at or above a secondary level of education who want to measure their general English language proficiency. The MET can be used for educational purposes, such as when finishing an English language course, or for employment purposes, such as applying for a job or pursuing promotion that requires an English language qualification.
To Register:
- Print and complete the Official Identification (registration) form online or obtain one at the Counseling & Testing Center.
- Submit completed registration form to the counseling & Testing Center no later than 2 weeks prior to test date. Include registration fee with the registration form.

Present an official government issued ID when you register as well as on test day.
MET Fees
Registration fee: $55.00
Counseling & Testing center administration fee: $35.00
Payment is accepted in cash or charged to an Andrews University account. Personal checks are not accepted.
